Competency Based Curriculum

    • Opportunity – provide every learner with a variety of opportunity to enable them identify their needs, talents and potential.
    • Excellence – every learner will be nurtured to excel in their areas of greatest interest & ability
    • Diversity and inclusion – Learners will appreciate Kenya’s diversity in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, language, culture and religion. Secondly, learners are different in terms of their learning needs and abilities. These differences need to be respected and valued within an inclusive learning environment.
    • Differentiated curriculum & learning – It ensures that the curriculum content and instructional approaches are appropriate for each learner.
    • Parental Empowerment and engagement – Parents have a shared responsibility with schools to provide an enabling environment that is conducive to learning and which motivates the child to achieve their full potential.
    • Community service learning -Involving students in community service is a form of experiential education that enables students to apply their knowledge and skills in a different set up.

  • Organization Basic Education
    • Early years Education – will comprise of two years of pre-primary education (PP1 & PP2) and three years of lower primary school education (Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3)
    • Middle School Education – This shall comprise of 3 years of upper primary education (Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6) and three years of lower secondary education (Grade 7, Grade 8, Grade 9)
    • Senior Secondary – This shall comprise of three years of education targeted at learners in the age bracket of 15 years to 17 years and lays the foundation for further education and training at the tertiary level and the world of work.
